ELEMENTARY SCHOOL TEACHERS

Minimum Requirements

  • Display a passion for God, love for children, and love of learning
  • Demonstrate a passion for classical education and excellence in teaching
  • Able to assist parents in their role as spiritual and academic mentors
  • Utilize effective communication skills to motivate and inspire students
  • Demonstrate Christ-honoring character and humility
  • Serve as a positive role model for students, parents, and the community
  • Commit to love, hunger for, and submit to the Word of God
  • Create hands-on, interactive learning opportunities
  • Support, assist, collaborate and communicate with each family as needed
  • Support, invest and assist in the development of the child/children in reaching their full potential: spiritually, academically and morally
  • Assist in the creation, research, and improvement of curriculum to provide the best possible educational environment for all children regardless of their learning ability or learning style
  • Create weekly lesson plans and home assignment for families that includes an outline of material covered in class and detailed instructions for home assignments
  • Review completed home assignments, assess areas in need of improvement, and ensure students are on track
  • Complete and coordinate quarterly assessments as well as teacher parent conferences
  • Attend school events including and not limited to parent training sessions, information sessions for potential families, and school socials
  • Supervise children during snack/lunch times and during recess
  • Encourage children to become increasingly independent in their learning, becoming self-motivated and engaged life-long learners 

Desired Qualifications

  • Washington-state certified teacher (or equivalent)
  • Excellent oral and written communication as well as creative skills
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability and willingness to try new avenues
  • Punctual, diligent, persistent and able to adapt
  • Love God and have a passionate heart for education
  • Must be patient
  • Child/Infant CPR & First Aid
  • Experience with hands-on, individualized education(e.g. Montessori or similar) and/or Classical Style education
  • Other certificates as deemed necessary

Compensation commensurate to experience and qualifications. This is a part-time, contract position.

Administrative Assistant

Minimum Requirements
 

  • Display a passion for God, love for children and love of learning

  • Demonstrate a passion for classical education and excellence in teaching

  • Able to assist current and future parents

  • Utilize effective communication skills

  • Demonstrate Christ-honoring character and humility

  • Serve as a positive role model for students, parents, and the community

  • Commit to love, hunger for, and submit to the Word of God

  • Extensive calendar management, travel arrangements and reservation coordination, requiring interaction with internal and external staff, parents and community to coordinate a variety of meetings, teleconferences, retreats, and events.

  • Attend committee meetings, interest meetings, record minutes, and follow-up on action items.

  • Compose, edit and proof correspondence (i.e. letters, e-mails, documents, articles).

  • Respond to confidential and routine communications including voicemails, phone calls, emails, faxes, documents, mail, and personal visitations or direct to appropriate personnel.

  • Work collaboratively with Arrow Prep’s Director, teachers, staff, current and future parents.

  • Support, assist, collaborate and communicate with each family as needed

  • Attend school events including and not limited to parent training sessions, information sessions for potential families and school socials

  • Reports directly to APA’s Director

  • Develop and maintain relationships with colleges

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  •      Able to communicate with staff and parents in a positive, courteous, confidential and professional manner

  •      Able to handle fast-paced environment

  •      Good judgment in responding to routine, urgent and emergent requests and situations.

  •       Able to maintain detailed, neat and accurate documentation on daily shift log

  •      Child/Infant CPR & First Aid
