Picture
Heidi Sankey, Founder
Board Chair, Executive Director
Heidi Sankey is passionate about creating an environment where children feel inspired and challenged to reach their full potential and know their identity in Christ, created from mutual investment from teachers and parents. She loves seeing students come alive and active in their learning, challenged and released to grow and explore. Heidi and her husband Brynn found the beauty of parent partnership in education through the University-Model®️ with their son in Texas. They loved the space it gave them to grow, support, and challenge one another as a family. God then put it on their hearts to move to Seattle and begin Arrow Prep, Washington's first University-Model®️ school, to offer families this same space and an opportunity for them to be involved with the education of their children. In addition to running all things Arrow, Heidi enjoys traveling and learning about other cultures, good coffee, spending time on outdoor adventures with her husband and three children, and visiting family in Texas and Australia.

Clarissa is married to Kenny and together they are the parents of three boys at Arrow Prep. She discovered Arrow midway into its first year as a school, immediately jumped in with her eldest son, and has been with them ever since, adding two more boys along the way. Clarissa and her family landed in the Seattle area over a decade ago, by way of Hong Kong and Toronto, but have now grown to call the PNW home. Aside from homeschooling, she’s spent the last few years providing leadership oversight at a small church community in Seattle, volunteer copy editing, and writing when time allows. She is a former member of Hope*Writers, a community of working writers honing their skill together.

Beth lives in Shoreline with her husband and their four children.  She is a northern California native who grew up on the beach reading and playing in the sand.  Beth went into teaching after graduating from college, working in many different Christian schools along the west coast.  When her oldest was ready for kindergarten, Beth found a University-Model school and enjoyed all the community and help this special educational blend offered her family.  Since moving to Seattle in 2006, Beth has continued to teach at different Christian schools while also finishing her second masters in Education at the UW in curriculum & instruction.  One of her greatest joys is supporting teachers in the hard and precious work they do daily. She enjoys seeing how Christian education, involved parents, and impactful curriculum make a difference at Arrow Prep!

George Woo
Board Member
George Woo is married to Leah and they have a daughter and son attending at Arrow Prep.  At the beginning of the pandemic, his wife discovered Arrow Prep, and he found that the school aligned with his spiritual and academic beliefs.  He liked the classical model because he wanted his children to grow up in a Christ-centered environment while learning responsibility and independent-thinking in a small classroom setting.  George grew up in the tiny territory of Guam before moving to Atlanta, and eventually moved here to Seattle.  He enjoys spending time with his family watching movies, playing board games, and sharing laughs.  Outside of the home, George enjoys working with technology as part of his vocation and volunteer work helping out the church in AV.

Aimee Ray
Pre-K Director
Aimee Ray has had a passion for teaching young children since she was a child herself, finding so much joy and wonder in helping young minds grow and understand the world around them. She has spent most of her life in Washington, aside from a few years in Iowa which included receiving her B.A. in Elementary and Early Childhood Education from the University of Northern Iowa. She found a particular passion for working with young children during her time working at a Montessori school, where she worked with infants and later in administration. Aimee also worked as a Preschool Director and teacher at a local Christian school, until starting a family with her husband Nick and staying home with her two children during their little years. When it came time for their eldest to start school, they found Arrow Prep and have formed a strong connection to the school and its community, which is why she is so excited to be able to join this year not only as a parent of Arrow students but also as a teacher. Aimee loves exploring the beautiful Pacific Northwest with her family by way of hiking and paddleboarding, coffee, baking, and sharing the love of Jesus and his creation with little ones.

Krystal Samsel
5th Grade Teacher
Krystal Samsel is a dedicated educator and U.S. Navy veteran with a deep commitment to serving her community through teaching. With endorsements in K–12 general music and K–8 education, and a Master of Arts in Teaching from Seattle Pacific University, Krystal brings both heart and versatility to the classroom.
Her passion for education began with a simple desire to meet a need in her community—starting as a substitute teacher and eventually teaching every grade level from pre-kindergarten to high school seniors. Krystal's love for teaching shines brightest in music and math; in fact, she often turns to algebra as a way to unwind. While music is her first love, she also enjoys exploring and teaching subjects like science and history, always seeking to spark curiosity in her students.
For Krystal, the most meaningful moments in teaching come when students apply classroom knowledge to real-life situations. She believes the true value of education lies in what students carry with them beyond the classroom—skills, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning. Teaching the next generation, in her eyes, is a sacred responsibility—one she approaches with humility, passion, and unwavering dedication.

As a child in a military family, Sam had the opportunity to live all along the West coast and in Japan, before her family settled down in Washington. Sam attended Whitworth University in Spokane, WA, where she earned a B.A. in History, a B.A. in International Studies, and a minor in Dance. After getting married, she went back to school in 2018 to get her Master’s in Education. Sam has also been a dance teacher for ten years and loves to integrate movement in the classroom. He believes that studying science is not just about memorizing facts but about developing an appreciation for the intricate design and beauty of God’s creation. His goal is to help students see science as both a tool for discovering the amazing complexities of life and a language to communicate the incredible ingenuity and artistry of our Creator. He earned a B.S. in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from Seattle Pacific University, where he also met and married his amazing wife. He worked for the University of Washington conducting metabolic research prior to transitioning to the role of stay-at-home dad for his two kids, and joined the Arrow staff in 2022.  Outside the classroom, he enjoys hiking, watching movies with his family, leading worship at his church, traveling, and spending time on the water.

Scott Jacobson
Latin Teacher
Languages past and present have always been a source of fascination for Scott. He enjoys sharing that with his students in Latin class while deepening their understanding of language more broadly and of the world. Since most of the early church inhabited the classical world, Latin and Greek were the obvious choice when Scott opted to do a B.A. in Classics at the University of Washington. When not reading ancient texts or poetry, Scott can usually be found spending time with his wife and two kids drinking tea by the potful and nibbling something carb-y--sometimes with the added bonus of reading aloud, painting, or camping out in the beauty of the PNW.
