ART INSTRUCTOR

Arrow Preparatory Academy seeks an outstanding art instructor who is committed to teach, nurture, personify our core values, embrace our vision and mission, and enjoy working in a collaborative environment with both students and parents.  Our instructors seek God first and provide a truly unique educational approach that is centered around the development of mind, heart and character.

We are looking for an instructor or instructor(s) that can teach 1 art class to 3rd - 5th graders. The art instructor will help students understand and express art elements and concepts, art history, and use of a variety of art mediums/ disciplines, occasionally centering projects around science and history topics students are learning in their core classes. The teacher will be responsible for outlining the curriculum and making sure it is developmentally appropriate for each age level.

Necessary Qualifications:

• Love God and have a passionate heart for education
• ​Experience working with children of varying ages
• Excellent classroom management skills
• Professional experience and/ or degree in any art field
• ​Punctual, diligent, persistent and ability to adapt

• Ability to assist students:
  • Provide the best possible educational environment for all children regardless of their learning ability or learning style
  • Create weekly lesson plans that are age appropriate in content and skill level for each age group
  • Plan projects to display and participate in Christmas Program and Spring Showcase
  • Execute art projects while staying within the budget given by administration
  • Utilize effective communication skills to motivate and inspire students and create a peaceful classroom environment
  • Excellent time management skills
• School Involvement
  • Cooperation with administration in policies, etc.
  • Able to maintain a clean, organized classroom 
  • Monitor attendance
  • Assist with student pick- up

Salary/Time Commitment:

• Compensation commensurate to experience and qualifications. This is a contract position.
• Paycheck will be administered by direct deposit
