LATIN INSTRUCTOR

Arrow Preparatory Academy seeks an outstanding Latin instructor who is committed to teach, nurture, personify our core values, embrace our vision and mission, and enjoy working in a collaborative environment with both students and parents.  Our instructors seek God first and provide a truly unique educational approach that is centered around the development of mind, heart and character.

We are looking for a teacher that can teach 1 Latin class to upper elementary students  (4th/5th/6th). The latin teacher will help students understand beginning latin structure and its connection to other languages. Lessons will occasionally be connected to what students are covering in their core history and science classes. The teacher will be responsible for outlining the curriculum and making sure it is developmentally appropriate for the age level.  ​ 

Necessary Qualifications:

• Love God and have a passionate heart for education
• ​Experience working with children of varying ages
• Excellent classroom management skills
• Professional experience and/ or qualification in the Latin language, or a strong willingness to learn about the Latin language so able to lead students through beginning instruction
• ​Punctual, diligent, persistent and ability to adapt

  • Provide the best possible educational environment for all children regardless of their learning ability or learning style
  • Create weekly lesson plans that are age appropriate in content and skill level for each age group
  • Plan reading/ project for Spring Showcase
  • Execute lessons/projects while staying within the budget given by administration
  • Utilize effective communication skills to motivate and inspire students and create a peaceful classroom environment
  • Excellent time management skills
• School Involvement
  • Cooperation with administration in policies, etc.
  • Able to maintain a clean, organized classroom 
  • Monitor attendance
  • Assist with student pick- up

Salary/Time Commitment:

• Compensation commensurate to experience and qualifications. This is a contract position.
• Paycheck will be administered by direct deposit on the 15th and and last day of each month.

Class will take place at the following times (teachers are expected to arrive a minimum of 15 minutes before class times to prep and stay a minimum of 15 minutes afterward for pick up and clean up): 

• 4th/5th/6th: Fridays | 1:30 - 2:30
