LIFE Skills INSTRUCTOR


Arrow Preparatory Academy seeks an outstanding life skills instructor who is committed to teach, nurture, personify our core values, embrace our vision and mission, and enjoy working in a collaborative environment with both students and parents.  Our instructors seek God first and provide a truly unique educational approach that is centered around the development of mind, heart and character.


We are looking for a instructor that can teach 1 life skills class to upper elementary students  (4th/5th/6th). The life skills instructor will help students understand basic cooking concepts, finance management, tool use, first aid, emotional intelligence, cleaning, etc . 

This position is stepping into a mid year position. Unfortunately, our life skills instructor was unable to continue as our instructor in order to best support her family. She has already laid our the general curriculum map for the remainder of the school year and the instructor would be stepping into a class structure already set up by our previous instructor. 


Necessary Qualifications:
  • Love God and have a passionate heart for education
  • ​Experience working with children of varying ages
  • Excellent classroom management skills
  • Professional experience and/ or qualification in life skills such as cooking, first aid, finance management, etc. and willingness to learn more about basic life skills concepts less familiar with
  • ​Punctual, diligent, persistent and ability to adapt

Teacher Responsibilities/Requirements:

    • Teachable, humble and adaptable
    • Serve as a positive role model for students
  • Ability to assist families:
    • Support, invest and assist in the development of each student in reaching their full potential
    • ​Encourage children to become increasingly independent in their learning, becoming self-motivated and engaged life long learners
  • Ability to assist students:
    • Provide the best possible educational environment for all children regardless of their learning ability or learning style
    • Create weekly lesson plans that are age appropriate in content and skill level for each age group
    • Plan project to display at Christmas Program and Spring Showcase
    • Execute lessons/projects while staying within the budget given by administration
    • Utilize effective communication skills to motivate and inspire students and create a peaceful classroom environment
    • Excellent time management skills
  • School Involvement
    • Cooperation with administration in policies, etc.
    • Able to maintain a clean, organized classroom 
    • Monitor attendance
    • Assist with student pick- up

Salary/Time Commitment:
  • January 2022 - May 2022
  • Compensation commensurate to experience and qualifications. This is a contract position.
  • Paycheck will be administered by direct deposit on the last day of each month.
