Elective Instructors

Theater INSTRUCTOR

Arrow Preparatory Academy seeks an outstanding theater instructor who is committed to teach, nurture, personify our core values, embrace our vision and mission, and enjoy working in a collaborative environment with both students and parents.  Our instructors seek God first and provide a truly unique educational approach that is centered around the development of mind, heart and character.

We are looking for an instructor that can teach 1 theater class a week to middle and upper elementary students  (2nd - 7th grade). The theater instructor will help students grow in their acting skills, improvising skills, character expression, and writing their own theater pieces. Lessons will occasionally be in line with the content being covered in students' core science and history classes. The teacher will be responsible for outlining the curriculum and making sure it is developmentally appropriate for the age level. ​ 

Necessary Qualifications:
  • Love God and have a passionate heart for education
  • ​Experience working with children of varying ages
  • Excellent classroom management skills
  • Professional experience and/ or qualification in theater
  • ​Punctual, diligent, persistent and ability to adapt

Teacher Responsibilities/Requirements:
  • Character:
    • Display a passion for God and a commitment to love, hunger for, and submit to the Word of God
    • Demonstrate Christ-honoring character and humility
    • Display a passion for educating children and love of learning
    • Teachable, humble and adaptable
    • Serve as a positive role model for students
  • Ability to assist families:
    • Support, invest and assist in the development of each student in reaching their full potential
    • ​Encourage children to become increasingly independent in their learning, becoming self-motivated and engaged life long learners
  • Ability to assist students:
    • Provide the best possible educational environment for all children regardless of their learning ability or learning style
    • Create weekly lesson plans that are age appropriate in content and skill level for each age group
    • Plan theater performance for Christmas Program and Spring Showcase
    • Execute lessons/projects while staying within the budget given by administration
    • Utilize effective communication skills to motivate and inspire students and create a peaceful classroom environment
    • Excellent time management skills
  • School Involvement
    • Cooperation with administration in policies, etc.
    • Able to maintain a clean, organized classroom 
    • Monitor attendance
    • Assist with student pick- up
      ​
Salary/Time Commitment:
  • Compensation commensurate to experience and qualifications. This is a contract position.
  • Paycheck will be administered by direct deposit
  • required to be on campus from 2:15 pm - 3:45 pm on Friday afternoons for prep, class, and student pickup
